Pneumatic conveying fans must deliver enough air velocity to keep material in suspension across the whole line, plus enough pressure to overcome pipe friction, bends and the material load. Under-size the fan and material drops out and blocks the pipe; over-size it and you waste energy and risk product damage. Sizing starts from the conveying velocity for your material and the equivalent length of the pipework.
