When to Replace a Fan Impeller

An impeller wears from the airstream it handles: abrasive dust erodes the blades, corrosive gas thins the metal, and years of running can fatigue welds. The warning signs are rising vibration that cleaning does not cure, visible blade erosion or thinning, cracks at the blade roots or backplate, and a measurable drop in airflow or pressure. Any crack is a reason to take the fan out of service.

Running a worn or cracked impeller risks a sudden failure that can wreck the bearings, casing and motor — far more costly than a planned change. We reverse-engineer replacement impellers from your worn part or drawing for any brand of fan, dynamically balanced to G6.3 so the swap restores the fan to its original tested condition.
